Besides, you can do dynamic exercises such as plank walks, then progressing to high knees or burpees. These exercises will raise your heart rate and warm you up.

Put on clothes that are warm enough to protect you from cold. It’s very important to layer your clothing so that you stay warm when you step outside. Try to trap the heat intelligently in your clothes. With a breathable but warm clothing, keep those under-circulated areas like feet, hands, lower legs, and even arms covered. Also make sure you cover fingers, noses and ears, because these areas are prone to freeze first. So, keep them well protected. Keep in mind that materials such as spandex and even 100 percent cotton will actually make you colder once sweat starts to soak into them. In that case wear light jackets you can tie around your waist when you get too warm, and thermal exercise clothes.

There is also some times the temperature is too cold for you to get your physical exercise done outside. The footing may be too icy for you to safely get a run or riding cycle outside. I personally like better to take my runs inside when temperatures fall below 15 to 20°F. Keep in mind that injuries like frostbite occurs when skin temperature falls below 32°F, and when the wind chill falls below -18°F. You can be affected by frostbite in half-hour or less. In that case you can also exercise indoors. If you like running, hit the treadmill. Yoga is also a great option for you to get in shape & healthy. You can also go to gym but gym memberships aren’t cheap. By getting off-peak memberships, you can usually save money on a membership. So, stay safe & know your limit.

One of the most important tips for you would be making a workout routine & stick to it. Allote your

time to all your exercise and don’t skip any exercise. Develop a few well-rounded routine that you genuinely enjoy and can easily memorize. Try to set up an alarm 15 to 20 minutes earlier than usual. For example, if your time of running or workout is at 6am every day, set a schedule or alarm 5:40am or 5:50am. It will help you to get extra.time for yourself. Do all types of stretchings, running, cycling etc. Also if you are a yoga lover do all the asanas.

It is as important to drink fluids in winter as it is in the summer. Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean your body won’t  sweat and you won’t require more water to keep you going. You will less likely to get thirsty in winter. But you need to provide fluid to your body. The amount of water you usually drink may vary but ensure to have adequate water to keep you going. Remember to consume water before,during and after.your workout. Also during winter weather your skin gets dry and flaky. So you need to apply moisturizer and lotion to your skin as well.
